I still care, I am just done with showing it. I'll continue to care without expecting anything in return.
Tilt & Shifting
Posted: Thursday, March 15, 2012 by Stained in Labels: 24mm TS-E, 5D MKII, Canon, cat, CC, EF, EOSAnyway on topic. SJ bought a Canon EF 24mm 3.5 TS-E lens a month or so back and I've got one thing to say about it...LOVE IT!!! I haven’t been shooting much for myself which is evident from the missing photo posts on this blog and my photo specific tumblr blog so it was refreshing to see myself up and running thanks to the lens immense learning curve.
I’ve learned photography through constant trial and error so this lens is perfect for the photo geek in me. It constantly allows and expects me to tinker with what I shoot and how I compose it while throwing a curveball in the form of its ability to Tilt and Shift which in layman’s terms means AWESOMENESS. I haven’t had this amount of fun for a very long time which is quite surprising. I did buy myself a Canon EF 135mm f2 at the same time with SJ which happened to be on my wish list but I didn’t enjoy it as much.
Anyway two images I shot in the last two days which I adore to bits. Not the best display of the prowess of this lens but I don’t care as I like them… (^_^)
Surprises and all that...

The idea failed miserably due to the failure on the part of our (then) common friend Ash and a sloppy execution. Then last year Begg and Biela tried to surprise me a day before my birthday and failed because it was obvious to me what they were up to. I’m not easy to surprise or so I thought.
After a not so exciting birthday, I drudged along to pick up NA a day after for a meeting. We drove to Capri Italian Grill (located near the Trade Centre metro station) to discuss details regarding my photography brand over dinner. On entering the restaurant I asked the waiter for a table for two but NA jumped in and said we didn’t need one as we made our way to a table hidden in a corner that had three people already seated i.e. SJ, Dots and Nizam. As SJ later pointed out, the look on my face was priceless; a mix of embarrassment and surprise. A decent meal followed by a birthday cake that was devoured by me. A dark chocolate mousse from Pascal Tepper that would melt away in your mouth leaving an after taste that would last for several minutes. Delicious...
In my defense, I blame the extremely stressed/lack of sleep state I've been in for my downfall... (>_<)
On a side note: I’m glad the waiter/s didn’t break into a birthday song when they placed the cake on our table. That would be highly embarrassing...

I showed SJ one of the pictures today and she seemed quite proud of my effort which I think is a good thing cause she's the architectural photography wiz... (^_^)
People in general love birthdays. They love feeling extra special on that single day and I’ve had an inclination to make an effort to make sure that happens. Cakes, birthday presents, surprises…been there done that. Oddly I haven’t done that in a while but for SJ I will… (^_^)
