The modeling light shining on the models face; a fine profile shot. With the borrowed Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS II L mounted on my camera, I decided to snap up a shot just to see what the image looked like through the camera with its smaller dynamic range.
Camera Model : Canon EOS 7D
Shooting Date/Time : 08/03/2011 14:12:55 PM
Tv(Shutter Speed) : 1/250
Av(Aperture Value) : f2.8
Metering Mode : Spot
ISO Speed : 1600
Lens : EF 70-200mm f2.8 II IS L
Focal Length : 125mm
The light source was from a beauty dish about 45cms away at a 60’ angle on the left of the model. This angle is the reason for this rather harsh light fall off (transition from light to dark) when viewed from this angle while the quality of light the beauty dish creates results in this rather contrasty look to the image. Love it.
A shot of the setup with Gregory Heisler taking a light reading with a light meter which comes to why the title of this blog post is 'The Next Step' which is what his workshop at GPP2011 (organized by Gulf Photo Plus) is called. I was assisting at the event yet again (blog post long over due) and somewhere in the middle I managed to sneak into Gregory Heisler's class. More on that later.
